For Justin’s birthday this year, I decided to take him to Las Vegas for the weekend! He’s been wanting to go for a while so I thought what better way to celebrate than to celebrate with gambling, drinking, and all the other deadly sins? Everything in moderation of course. It was mainly a food venture, so we didn’t go too crazy.
Our flight was delayed so we didn’t get to Vegas until around 10pm.We had tickets to watch the Chainsmokers that started at 10pm so I was freaking out just a tad. Showered and made our way to the Wynn (walking fml) from the Cosmopolitan. Two miles later, we arrived at the hotel only to learn that the line for XS was around and around and around. Proceed to wait an hour. We got inside at around 2:30am, aka 5:30am EST for us. It was brutal.
I think we only stayed there a little over an hour before both of us were too exhausted to keep going. Starving also, so we got egg slut.
Justin had a minor freak out thinking he lost his ID but it turns out the bartender had it the whole time. We were up at 8am the next morning trying to figure out where it was. After that was resolved, we went downstairs to eat the Wicked Spoon, which is the buffet at the Cosmo. Honestly, best buffet for it’s value on the Strip. Go early and avoid the lines!
I got no pictures of us playing roulette, but that’s pretty much ALL WE DID. I do have a picture of Justin playing slots, even though that was a max of 30 minutes the entire trip.
Views of the Strip from our terrace.
I upgraded our rooms to the studio balcony rooms that face the Bellagio fountains. Good choice.
While walking down the Strip, we saw a huge In-N-Out sign next to the LINQ so of course.. DOUBLE DOUBLE + ANIMAL STYLE FRIES.
And if that wasn’t enough, I wanted red velvet ice cream from sprinkles after.
I then proceeded to pass out from food coma until Justin woke me up for dinner. It was 10pm.
We were going to see Galantis at Marquee that night so we needed to grab something quick. Momofuku just opened up their Vegas location so we thought WHY NOT?
We got their pork bun appetizer. 🙂
Kimchi stew for Justin.
Ginger scallion noodles for me.
Overall I’d say it’s still pretty overpriced for what it is. Would I come back? Probably not.
Galantis at Marquee. I don’t know how many of you have been there but it is HUGE.
Justin and I had made reservations for Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill for lunch. As you know, Justin and I love Bobby. Between the two of us, we ordered two appetizers and two entrees. #fat
Shrimp tamale appetizer and fundido (to the far left).
I ordered the scrambled eggs chilaquiles and Justin ordered a burger.
Let me tell you, we were beyond stuffed. And regretful.
I can’t remember what we did after that but I’m pretty sure we went back to Roulette.
At night we went to go see “O” at the Bellagio.
On our way there 🙂
After dinner, we went back to Cosmo and finally found the secret pizza place. Justin kept seeing people with pizza boxes and we were like, WHERE IS THIS COMING FROM?
I got the white pizza and mushroom pizza.
We had taco bell for breakfast. Unfortunately no pictures were taken of this.
I do, however, have pictures of us going to Bruxie, which is a waffle sandwich place I have previously blogged about.
Nashville style hot chicken waffle sandwich. Yum.
We still had lots of time, so I wanted to stop by the Chandelier bar at the Cosmo.
If you’re a girl, you’ll love these drinks.
We went to Downtown Vegas after but there’s nothing to see there.
Justin did get this artsy picture of me so, it was worth it I guess.
We went back to the hotel after this short trip and proceeded to gamble for the next three hours. Needless to say, I lost everything and more. :’)
It was a great trip overall, so ’til next time Vegas!
